Mapping the Interior: Abstract One-Sheet Collage Zines with Allison Anne

$0.00

Sat Oct 18 @ 12 noon at MCBA during the Midwest Queer & Trans Zine Fest

1011 Washington Ave S #100, Minneapolis, MN 55415

In this workshop, we’ll explore allison’s approach to abstract collage techniques and an easy one-sheet zine format, creating an ephemeral, emotional abstract ‘map’. Feel free to bring your own ephemera and photos, but keep in mind that we’ll be cutting and pasting! At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a zine project of your own that you can copy & share!

about allison:

allison anne (pronouns: they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist who works in a variety of media. The core of their practice is handcut paper collage -- by recontexualizing images and materials, allison seeks to create complex textural, intuitive abstractions and configurations which prioritize that which is found, discarded and left behind, exploring the intersections and interactions between context, materiality and creativity.

In addition to paper collage, allison is an avid mail artist, zinemaker, publisher and graphic desiger. They are a founding member of Twin Cities Collage Collective. In 2022, allison cofounded NONMACHINABLE, a distributor and small publisher.
